In the year 2000 the Iron Ore Company together with the USWA Local 5795 opened their doors to include people with disabilities in all aspects of the IOC employee experience.
A training program has been developed that provides six months of employment with the Iron Ore Company. The focus of this program is to develop janitorial and employable skills for group participants.
To be considered a candidate for this position you must be an on-going client with the LWEC and have an action plan in place. The candidates are then involved in a hiring process where they have to apply the same way they would at any other employment position. There is the cover letter, resume, and the interview process to follow.
